How to get a police certificate – Bonaire
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.
Name of the document you need
Certificate of Good Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag [VOG])
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for permanent residence, citizenship and for some temporary residence programs (please see the document checklist or visa office requirements for details).
How to apply
You can apply in person by printing out the application form (PDF, 175 KB) and submitting it to the
Office of the Lieutenant Governor
Plaza Reina Wilhelmina 1
on either
- Tuesday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. or 2 to 4 p.m.
- Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m.
You can also apply online (available in Dutch only) by emailing a fully completed application form (PDF, 175 KB) with the required documents to vog-bonaire@bonairegov.com.
You need to collect your certificate in person. An authorized representative can also collect it for you.
Special considerations
Processing time is approximately 5 weeks.
The VOG is not issued digitally.
If you aren’t in the population register (PIVA), or if you don’t have a permanent place of residence, you can’t apply for a VOG.
