TITLE

Current status: The public consultation is now closed. The What We Heard report is now available.

Why

We are committed to reducing tobacco use in Canada. Tobacco use is a deadly and costly social and public health problem. It is the leading cause of early death in Canada.

Every year, over 37,000 Canadians die from illness caused by smoking.Footnote i That's one Canadian every 14 minutes. In 2015, about 115,000 Canadians began smoking daily.Footnote ii
