At the time, this account gave me 12 transactions a month for $3.50. Any other transactions would cost me $1.50 each. For just about 10 years, I "trusted" my bank and never looked at my service fees till the other day. I discovered that I was being charged upwards of $46 dollars a month for my daily banking account. If you were to multiply this by 12 months and then by 9 years we're talking almost $5000 dollars in service fees by having the wrong account for my banking needs. I propose that you make the banks justify their charges for all fees and make it more visible to their customers. If there was some sort of check by the banks to identify a cost savings for their customers or if consumers could get notification about service charges being charged to their bank accounts this wouldn't be a problem. Lots of people are being over charged by the banks all over Canada when they "slide" their service fees into peoples accounts. Lots of charges go undetected by unsuspecting financially challenged consumers. This needs to stop and banks need to held accountable. Millions of dollars are being swindled out of consumer accounts without any accountability from the banks. I am outraged and thinking about taking this story to social media to warn the general public. Regards, XXXX
