From: XXXX Sent: December-04-13 1:12 PM To: Consumer Code / Code consommateur Subject: Inaccurate Pump Readings The issue of inaccurate pump readings is of major concern, however if the new penalties are no more than a slap on the wrist what is the incentive for retailers to correct the problem. Assume $0.01 / liter, a retailer stand to profit $10's of thousands of dollars. First offender fines should start at $50K and subsequent violations should be increased significantly. I believe if a retailer is selling a volume related product it is their responsibility to ensure the accuracy of product measurement. Any fine should be punitive not a inconvenience with no long term consequences. Also the large Oil companies should not get away free either. As much as we consumers love to hate Big Oil Companies we trust them to at least play with some integrity. It is their Corp and Franchisee locations that are the problem so they also must be held accountable. XXXX
