Communicate, Collaborate, Celebrate with Accessibility Standards Canada

Important notice

We have heard the concerns of some stakeholders regarding the use of scents at the event venue. Please note that the hotel has agreed to stop using scents three days prior to and during the event. As we wish to ensure that this is an inclusive and scent-free event, we also ask that all participants refrain from wearing scented products.

Should you have any other concerns or suggestions, please contact us by e-mail. We want to work with you to ensure that this event, and all future ones, are accessible for everybody.

Communicate

The board of directors and Chief Executive Officer will lead Accessibility Standards Canada’s first annual public meeting. They will provide an update on what the organization has accomplished so far, what it means for Canadians with a disability, and what the next steps will be. The meeting will also be broadcast live on Facebook.

Collaborate

This event is your opportunity to be heard and provide feedback. Do you know how we can improve accessibility standards in Canada? How can we better serve persons with disabilities? Take part in one of the 3 break-out sessions at the event (listed below) and share your ideas with us.

Topic 1: Research projects

What type of research projects should we provide funding for in the future?

Topic 2: Standards development priorities

In what areas should we focus for the next set of accessibility standards?

Topic 3: Engaging with the community

How can we better engage with persons with disabilities? What are your expectations for our organization?

Celebrate the launch of Accessibility Standards Canada

To close out the day, we will officially launch Accessibility Standards Canada. Be there to celebrate one of the most important milestones for persons with disabilities in Canada in over 30 years.
