Agricultural trade is an important driver of economic growth in Canada. On average, about half of the value of Canada’s agricultural production is exported. The Government of Canada is making targeted investments to help achieve its objective of expanding agricultural exports to $75 billion by 2025.

• Funding for construction of the International Trade Centre included:

  • $22 million from the federal and provincial governments under the Growing Forward 2 agreement (Trade and Market Development Infrastructure Program)
  • $11 million from the City of Regina
  • $3 million from the Regina Hotels Association and
  • $1 million from Canadian Western Agribition
