Award of quality management certification will enable the firm to become a supplier to the retail food trade, where adherence to quality standards and certification are de rigueur. Aliments Tristan will also be able to market products of uniform quality and strengthen its competitive position in the domestic market and in markets outside Quebec.

  • The Levier program targets businesses and consortia of businesses of various sizes in the food processing industry, sectoral associations in the food industry and relevant not-for-profit agencies. For 2016-2017, a little over $1.6 million was disbursed through this program.

  • In July 2017, the federal, provincial and territorial (FPT) ministers of Agriculture concluded an agreement in principle on key elements of the Canadian Agriculture Partnership, which represents federal, provincial and territorial investment of $3 billion over five years. The Partnership, which will be launched on April 1, 2018, will create a solid foundation on which to build the future for Canadian farmers and processors and continue helping them to grow, innovate and prosper.
