Minister MacAulay begins his Growing Canadian Agriculture Tour in Quebec

Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Lawrence MacAulay, joined by the Parliamentary Secretary Jean-Claude Poissant, will start his Growing Canadian Agriculture tour in Quebec on June 25 at the Marché des jardiniers de La Prairie which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. He will also meet with representatives from the Fédération de la relève agricole du Québec and the Agricultrices du Québec.

On June 26, Minister MacAulay and Parliamentary Secretary Poissant will continue their tour in the Eastern Township region, where they will be joined by the Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, and Member of Parliament for Compton-Stanstead, Marie-Claude Bibeau. Minister MacAulay will make two important announcements: a federal investment in support of the Canadian pork industry and another, in support of the dairy industry at the Compton’s Fromagerie La Station. Minister MacAulay will also visit the Centre d’initiatives en agriculture de la région de Coaticook and make a stop at the Laiterie de Coaticook.

On June 27, Minister MacAulay will conclude his Quebec visit in Montreal at the International Conference on Precision Agriculture where he will deliver a speech at the closing plenary session and hold a media availability.
