Agriculture Student Scholarship recipients announced in Saskatchewan

Today, four Saskatchewan students were awarded Agriculture Student Scholarships, recognizing their leadership potential, innovative thinking and commitment to the future of Saskatchewan agriculture.

The 2026 scholarship theme, solutions to challenges in agriculture, invited students to explore emerging industry issues, how to communicate with the public, ways to collaborate within the industry and to propose actionable solutions that support a successful agricultural sector.

Carson Green from Mossbank was awarded $6,000 as the grand-prize recipient. Green’s prize winning video focused on the current labour needs facing Saskatchewan agriculture. Green’s video called for coordinated efforts to build stronger career pathways for youth and emerging leaders.

Green plans to attend the University of Saskatchewan this fall, studying Agribusiness in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources.

The following students were each awarded $3,000 as runners-up:

• Brianna Yung (Bulyea)
• Eva Schafer (Makwa)
• Marshall Mann (Lloydminster)

The Agriculture Student Scholarship supports Saskatchewan students who are passionate about agriculture and committed to advancing the sector through innovation, education and leadership.

This program is funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a five-year (April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2028), $3.5-billion investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to strengthen the competitiveness, innovation and resiliency of Canada's agriculture, agri-food and agri-based products sector. This includes $1 billion in federal programs and activities and a $2.5-billion commitment that is cost-shared 60% federally and 40% provincially/territorially for programs that are designed and delivered by provinces and territories.
