Did you know? Military Family Services Aren’t Just for Regular Force Members!

Magazine Article / January 27, 2020 / Project number: RCAF-Excelsior-Winter-2020-06

Military families come in all forms: they consist of any Canadian Armed Forces' personnel, whether Regular and Reserve Force, and include their spouses, children, parents, relatives of significance, or anyone else who self-identifies as the family of a military member.

Military Family Services recognizes that Reserve Force members sustain and support the Canadian Armed Forces; therefore, they and their families are entitled to the same support and services as Regular members. These services can include, but are not limited to:

  • Military Family Resource Centres (MFRCs)
  • Deployment support
  • Counselling
  • Veteran Family Program Support
  • Education and training
  • Personal development
  • Education programming (parenting, psychoeducational, deployment, financial, etc.)
  • Emergency child care
  • Health care referral
  • Employment services;
  • Referral to community services
  • And more

To learn more about the many services available to you and your family, contact the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services Directory at: https://www.cfmws.com/en/OurServices/ServicesDirectory/Pages/default.aspx

RCAF Reservists and their families also can receive services from their closest MFRC location, found online at: https://www.cafconnection.ca/National/Local-Sites/Connect-to-Your-Local-CAF-Community.aspx

or through the Family Information Line at 1-800-866-4546.
