On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, Colonel Mark Lachapelle, 22 Wing Commander, and Chief Warrant Officer Debbie Martens, 22 Wing Chief Warrant Officer, held an Honours and Awards Ceremony in the Blue Room of the Ayr Mess to recognize the achievements of deserving 22 Wing personnel.

Among the award recipients was Corporal Robert Ouellette, 22 Wing Imagery Technician. Lieutenant-Colonel Eric Quirion, Joint Task Force (JTF) Nijmegen Commander 2019 sent a letter of appreciation and coin thanking Cpl Ouellette for his outstanding artistic design of the Four Days Marches Nijmegen collage produced in June 2019. “His ability to capture elements of the Canadian Armed Forces in a historical ensemble of moments of the Great Wars and of the Four Days Marches Nijmegen into a creative montage was truly remarkable,” he wrote.

LCol Quirion had the honour of presenting this collage with JTF Nijmegen Contingent 2019 to the Veteran’s Affairs European Operations Team at the Canadian Vimy Memorial, and it is now on display at the Vimy Visitor’s Centre to be seen by visitors from across the world. BZ Cpl Ouellette!
