Lieutenant-Colonel Carrie Fortier (retired) was appointed as Honorary Colonel of 4 Construction Engineering Squadron, Cold Lake AB in July 2018.

Honorary Colonel Fortier, born in Brandon Manitoba, enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1983 under the ROTP program. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa in 1987. Her first posting was to the Construction Engineering section in North Bay. During her military career, Honorary Colonel Fortier served in a number of Staff and Operational tours of duty all related to Military Engineering. Her final posting was as Wing Logistics and Engineering Officer and CO 8 MSS in Trenton, ON.

Her military career was followed by employment as a General Manager at CFHA followed by a short period with the Public Health Agency of Canada as their Executive Director of Safety, Security, Procurement and Real Property. Honorary Colonel Fortier returned to DND to lead the Real Property transformation initiative and her final position as Director General Infrastructure and Environment Engineering Services. Officially retired, she now concentrates on building her dream retirement home on the lake.
