Honorary Colonel Mike Sudul

Mr. Mike Sudul, President of Osler Systems Management Inc., was appointed as Honorary Colonel of 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron in Sidney, BC in October 2014.

Honorary Colonel Sudul was born in Calgary and raised in England on a variety of RAF bases. After returning to Calgary for his schooling, he completed his formal education at the University of Victoria with a Diploma in Sales and Marketing Management. Employment in CP Air’s marketing department led to his founding a travel agency in Victoria in 1971 which was sold in 2000. The experience in the travel industry led to extensive consulting work with a number of major airlines integrating airline and travel industry computer systems. He purchased Osler Systems in 1988 which he nurtured into a significant player in the Electronic Medical Records business. With his son, daughter, and daughter in law now holding key positions in the company he is looking forward to having more time to pursue his volunteer interests.

Honorary Colonel Sudul is very active with the local airport and business community and a member of a number of organizations. Although not a boat owner, he currently sits on the board of the local yacht club, is a life member of the Victoria Flying Club and BC Aviation Museum, and an honorary member of the Air Force Officers Association of Victoria as well as a longtime member of the Union Club.

Honorary Colonel Sudul has been an avid pilot for 40 years with over 5300 flying hours which includes flying his staff around British Columbia in the corporate aircraft, and many happy hours as a formation and aerobatic pilot, flying a vintage ex-Chinese military trainer for “stress relief”.

His association with the Air Force dates to his Father’s service in the RAF as a Lancaster pilot, his uncle a retired RCAF Squadron Leader flying CF-104’s, his cousin a retired RCAF CF-18 pilot and his nephew and wife both currently serving at 3 Wing Bagotville as a CF-18 pilot and a CH-146 pilot, respectively. He also enjoys motorcycle touring with his wife of 50 years riding pillion. Together, Honorary Colonel Sudul and his wife have ridden over 150,000 km traveling the back roads of the US and Canada including twice across our continent.
