Staff - 2nd Canadian Division Training Centre

Lieutenant-Colonel François Perreault was born in Lévis, Québec. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1996. Upon graduation from the Royal Military College of Canada in 2001, he joined the 12e Régiment blindé du Canada as an Armoured Officer.

His regimental appointments included tank troop leader, assault troop leader, battle captain, Regimental operations officer, Brigade reconnaissance squadron commander and Headquarters squadron commander.

His instructional duties include a posting as an instructor at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School (2004-2007). His staff appointments have included working at Canadian Army Headquarters in Ottawa as the Army G35 Continental and Army G33-3 International (2010-2012).

He also served as the Armour Officer Career Manager in Ottawa (2016-2017) and as Special Assistant to the Commanding General United States Army Europe as an exchange officer in Germany (2017-2020). His most recent assignment was as the Chief of Staff for 5th Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group.

His operational deployment includes two tours in Afghanistan on Operation ATHENA with an armoured reconnaissance squadron, in Kabul in 2004, and then in 2008 in Kandahar.

Lieutenant-Colonel Perreault is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada and the Australian National University. He holds a Bachelor of Art in Military and Strategic Studies and a Master of Military and Defense Studies. He graduated from the Australian Command and Staff Course in 2015. He was promoted to his current rank in May 2017.

Lieutenant-Colonel Perreault and his partner, Julie, are the proud parents of their 5-year-old daughter, Gabrielle.

Originally from Québec city, chief-warrant officer Sébastien Parent enrolled in Canadian Forces in November 1995 as an infantry soldier in the Royal 22e Regiment. After completion of basic training in St-Jean sur le Richelieu Qc and basic infantry training in Valcartier Qc, he was posted at the 2nd Battalion of the Royal 22 Regiment (2R22R).

During his 15 first year, he has served at all rank from private to WO with 2R22R. He was posted to the Infantry school in Gagetown in 2011 were he instruct mostly on the infantry warrant officer course. In 2015 he was back in Valcartier.

Promoted to Master warrant officer in 2016 he served with the 1R22R has CSM with B coy. In 2019 he was posted in Ottawa to act has the R22R career manager. 2021 he return to 2R22R in the DSM role.

Promoted to his actual rank in February 2022, he became the 2 Div Training center RSM in March 2022.

CWO Parent has four operational deployments overseas. His deployment include Haiti (1997), Bosnia (2002), Afghanistan (2009) and Ukraine (2018).
