Canadian seafood stabilization fund

The Government of Canada is taking exceptional action to support sectors facing unprecedented financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On April 25, the government announced $62.5 million in support for the fish and seafood processing sector to help mitigate the loss of markets for fresh products. With these investments, businesses will be able to:

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) will deliver these funds in Atlantic Canada.

Further information about how to apply for support will be available soon. Businesses and organisations in the fish and seafood industry can reach out to ACOA to discuss their specific needs. Those already working with an ACOA Program Officer can get in touch with them to determine what type of assistance is available.
