Federal investment of $1.2 million strengthens tourism and cultural experiences in Nova Scotia

Helping communities build on what makes them unique, from coastal escapes to cherished cultural landmarks

A family checking into a local inn, friends gathering for a theatre performance, visitors exploring a trail or heritage site - these everyday moments power Atlantic Canada’s economy. Investments in tourism, culture, and community infrastructure make experiences possible, drawing visitors, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and strengthening the unique character of communities across the region. In doing so, they build dynamic places where people want to live, work, and visit.
Today, Jaime Battiste, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Member of Parliament for Cape Breton—Canso—Antigonish, announced investments totaling more than $1.2 million for five tourism operators in Cape Breton and two non-profit organizations in Antigonish and Baddeck.
These investments will help create the experiences that attract visitors to the region, from unique places to stay and vibrant cultural venues to welcoming community spaces and outdoor attractions. Together, they will enhance what people see and do, preserve the assets that make communities distinctive, and support local businesses, jobs, and economic growth.
The organizations receiving support are:
- Groupe Bridou Hospitality
- Whale Cove Beach Resort
- Live Life in Tents
- Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort
- Two Rivers Development Association
- Festival Antigonish Society
- Theatre Baddeck Society
