All travellers, with limited exceptions, whether entering Canada by air, land, rail or water, must use ArriveCAN to provide mandatory travel information.
You must use ArriveCAN to submit your:
- contact information and travel details
- vaccination information and your proof of vaccination
- pre-entry COVID-19 test results
- quarantine plan
You may be exempt from some of these requirements. Visit travel.gc.ca/travel-covid for the latest travel requirements and exemptions.
Where to begin?
Access the web-version of ArriveCAN at Canada.ca/ArriveCAN or download the latest version of the free ArriveCAN app.
When to submit?
You must submit your information within 72 hours before your arrival to Canada and/or before boarding a cruise ship destined for Canada.
What to do with my submission?
Once completed, you will get a receipt in ArriveCAN and by email. Show it to your airline carrier, cruise operator and/or to a Canadian border services officer when you enter.
What do I need to do upon my return?
Unless you’re exempt from the requirement to quarantine, use ArriveCAN to check-in within 48 hours to confirm that you arrived at your place of quarantine or isolation. You’ll also need to complete a daily COVID-19 symptom self-assessment.
What if I don’t use ArriveCAN?
You:
- won’t be eligible for the fully vaccinated traveller exemption
- may face additional delays at the border for public health questioning
- may be subject to fines or enforcement action
