Search and Rescue stations across Quebec open for 2026 recreational boating season
News release
April 16, 2026 – Quebec – National Defence / Canadian Coast Guard
The Canadian Coast Guard’s seasonal search and rescue stations across Quebec region, located in Quebec, Tadoussac, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Kegaska, Rivière-au-Renard, and Cap-aux-Meules are now opened.
Waterways remain very cold at this time of year and take much longer to warm up when compared to the air. Boaters are reminded to take necessary precautions when near or on waterways. Transport Canada’s Safe Boating Guide provides useful information to help prepare for the recreational boating season.
Emergencies on the water can be reported 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, toll-free (within Canada) at 1-800-463-4393.
