Canadian Coast Guard to host dedication ceremony for new Search and Rescue Lifeboat, CCGS Cascumpec Bay

August 17, 2026 – Ottawa, Ontario – National Defence / Canadian Coast Guard

Media are invited to the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) Search and Rescue Station in Shippagan, New Brunswick, where Serge Cormier, Member of Parliament for Acadie-Bathurst, will welcome the CCG’s newest Search and Rescue Lifeboat, the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Cascumpec Bay, into service. Mr. Cormier will be joined by Gary Ivany, Assistant Commissioner for the CCG’s Atlantic Region and community members.

When: August 19, 2026 at 10:30 am ADT

Where: Canadian Coast Guard Search and Rescue Station, rue 12ieme, Shippagan, New Brunswick

What: A media availability, photo opportunity, and ship tour will follow remarks.
