Canadian Coast Guard to host dedication ceremony for new Search and Rescue Lifeboat, the CCGS Mira Bay

Media are invited to the Canadian Coast Guard Academy in Sydney, Nova Scotia, where Mike Kelloway, Member of Parliament for Sydney–Glace Bay and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport will officially welcome the Canadian Coast Guard’s newest Search and Rescue Lifeboat, the CCGS Mira Bay, into service. PS Kelloway will be joined by Gary Ivany, Assistant Commissioner for the Canadian Coast Guard’s Atlantic Region, and community members.

When: August 13, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. ADT
Where: Canadian Coast Guard Academy, Sydney Nova Scotia
What: A media availability, photo opportunity, and ship tour will follow remarks.
