Street closures

Below is a complete list of streets that will be closed to vehicles in Ottawa, Ontario, and Gatineau, Quebec, for Canada Day celebrations.

The following people will be able to access streets that are closed, with the exception of Alexandra Bridge:

  • Residents (with a driver’s licence as proof of residence)
  • Hotel patrons (with proof of hotel reservation)
  • Official Canada Day circulation access pass holders
  • City of Ottawa and City of Gatineau employees
  • OC Transpo and Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) Supervisors
  • Emergency responders

From 3 pm on June 27 to 6 pm on July 3

  • Laurier Street, from Maisonneuve Boulevard to Des Allumettières Boulevard, including all access to the Canadian History Museum (Papineau Street and Élisabeth-Bruyère Street)
  • Alexandra Bridge on ramp from Laurier Street

Closure of Alexandra Bridge

  • Closed to vehicles: from 6 am on July 1 to 3 am on July 2
  • Closed to bicycles and pedestrians: from 9 pm on July 1 to 3 am on  July 2

*Additional road closures will be in effect on the Alexandra Bridge on July 2 for the “Picnic on the Bridge” event.  Consult the City of Ottawa website for more information.
