Illumination Ceremony - Christmas Lights Across Canada 2018

The 34th edition of the Christmas Lights Across Canada program was a hit! Thank you all for coming! Join us again in 2019 to relive these magical moments with your family.

The 34th edition of Christmas Lights across Canada will kick off on Wednesday, December 5 with an illumination ceremony at 7 pm, on Parliament Hill. The atmosphere will be magical with unique performances by Ariane Moffatt, winner of several Felix awards, as well as Josée Bourgeois, an Algonquin artist. During the ceremony, social media content creators from every province and territory will share their holiday greetings in their own way, on giant screens.

Thousands of Canadians gathering for this annual ceremony will enjoy free BeaverTails® pastries and hot chocolate — while supplies last — as well as live performances and colorful pyrotechnics.

Make the best of these precious moments with family and friends, in an enchanting winter setting, as hundreds of thousands of lights shine brightly in the heart of Canada's Capital Region.

If you can't make it to the event, the festivities will be broadcast live on the Canadian Heritage Facebook page and YouTube channel, or on Rogers TV.
