Description

Halo – Public Art Installation

Free activity

Winter brings a swell of optical phenomena and provides a new lens to see the world. Halos are optical illusions that occur when light interacts with ice crystals. A halo is formed when ice crystals are magically aligned to create a fleeting wonder.

Tonya Hart’s artwork draws inspiration from nature, science and light with a focus on portraying magnetism. Nature and magnetism have manifested in a vast array of articulations in her artwork and they continue to facilitate the conceptual nature of her work.

The Art in the Capital program aims to raise the profile of Canadian public art in the urban spaces of Canada’s Capital Region.
