Description

Canadian Museum of Nature Mastodon Ice Sculpture

Free activity

This beautiful ice-carving of a mastodon will be on display on Sparks Street. Did you know that mastodons lived in all parts of North America until about 10,000 years ago? Mastodons may look like elephants, but they diverged from the elephant family over 25 million years ago!

From June 2020 to January 2021, explore how the Ice Ages have shaped our planet, and our evolution at the world premiere of a brand new exhibition, Planet Ice: Mysteries of the Ice Ages, created by the Canadian Museum of Nature.
