Team Quebec — Winterlude National Ice-Carving Championship
Sculpture title: We are proud
Carvers: Ross Baisas and Mowafak Nema
Location: Gatineau, Quebec
This ice sculpture tells the story of every athlete who participates in the Paralympic games. Bravery, courage, dedication, and confidence. These words describe how they take challenges, overcome their difficulties, and achieve their goals. The 3 life-size figures are active in environments of water, snow, ice, and gravity, which are part of their struggles and achievements. The Baisas and Nema team willfully paid attention to details, included facial expressions, and created a strong and most realistic composition in movement. Like the athletes, the sculptors faced these technical challenges, and we can only imagine how proud they are of their results.
