Purpose and objectives of transfer payment program: A grant payment of $10 million in 2025-26, as well as a matching fund of up to $10 million until 2035-36, was provided to the Governors of St. Francis Xavier University in support of the Brian Mulroney Institute of Government, a centre of research, education and government studies, to:
- help support the Institute to become a regional and national hub of excellence on governance, policy and government scholarship;
- provide extracurricular supports to St. Francis Xavier University students that help them be engaged citizens and future leaders; and
- serve surrounding communities.
