[Energetic music plays in the background]

[Sweeping aerial views of downtown Montreal’s skyline and urban streets]

Man: Having the support of a program like this made all the difference for us.

[The bustling streets and distinctive buildings of urban Montreal]

[A man and a woman seated on a black couch talk animatedly]

[A man approaches a chair and sits down]

Man: I’d like to introduce myself, I’m Ugo Mongiat, General Manager, Silent Partners Studio.

[A montage of Ugo seated, Ugo and a male colleague working together, and various images on a computer screen, including golden statues]

Ugo: Created in 2015 by the four founding partners, Nicolas, Gabriel, David and Janicke, we are a video content creation studio that specializes in the entertainment industry.

[Footage of Justin Timberlake performing with animated images projected around him demonstrates Silent Partners Studios’ work for concert tours]

Ugo: We first made a name for ourselves through the visual content we produced for concert tours.

[Ugo seated, interspersed with footage of Katy Perry in a short, pink dress performing on American Idol against a colourful animated backdrop]

Ugo: We ended up looking into different sources of funding because companies like ours working in the creative sector kind of scare the average financial institution. So Canadian Heritage’s program enabled us to establish ourselves on the American market in Los Angeles.

[Ugo seated, interspersed with images on a computer screen and his colleague working on a computer]

Ugo: We’ve always had American clients, so we needed to open an office there pretty quickly. It really allowed us to have a significant impact on the market there, to be able to show that we were serious about pursuing that market.

[Street views of Old Montreal and aerial views of downtown Montreal]

Ugo: Having an office in Los Angeles has allowed us to increase our visibility, to be more agile and flexible in responding to our clients’ needs and the projects we’re working on.

[Ugo seated, interspersed with footage of a man working at a computer]

Ugo: Plus, we’d been working for a while on augmented reality technology.

[Ugo and his colleague at a table talk and look at images of projections for different concerts on a computer]

Ugo: The fact that we already had a local office because of the program meant we were able to launch our augmented reality technology more quickly.

[Different concert projections superimposed over a view of Mount Royal in the background]

[Ugo, seated, interspersed with images on a screen]

Ugo: I don’t know if we’d be exactly where we are today if we hadn’t done that project, and I don’t know how long it would have taken if we’d had to fund that project ourselves.

[Street and aerial views of Montréal interspersed with images on a computer]

Ugo: Today, I’m convinced that without the program, we probably would have missed our chance to launch our augmented reality. When you’re a smaller company, the projects you undertake are based on the money you have, and for once as an entrepreneur, I was able to think further ahead. I was able to build the project as it was meant to be built.

[A man seated at a computer, interspersed with footage of Ugo, seated, and street views of Montréal]

Ugo: So for all those who have similar dreams but can’t make them happen because they don’t know where to get the funding, this is a golden opportunity to go explore new countries and accelerate the growth of your company.

[Street and bird’s eye views of Montréal]
