COVID-19 thank you: March 23, 2020
This content is a message to Correctional Service Canada (CSC) staff from CSC's Commissioner.
Thank you everyone!
As we navigate through this evolving health crisis, nothing is more important than our individual health and well-being, and the health of our loved ones, and our communities as a whole. We have the added responsibility to watch over offenders in our care and keep Canadians safe.
I know that Correctional Service of Canada has the right people, expertise, systems and planning in place to carry us through this type of situation. We meet challenges with swift action, resilience and true strength of character. We are resourceful and diligent in seeing things through.
I would like to express my gratitude to all CSC employees, especially those who are working in our institutions, those on the frontline, and those in communities supervising offenders to keep Canadians safe. You are working tirelessly day in and day out to keep our operations going under exceptional circumstances.
I realize that this evolving situation can be stressful and challenging for all of us. It has disrupted the systems that keep our lives running, requiring us to be resourceful and adaptive. I know many of you are coming to work with added pressures, your loved ones top of mind.
These are unprecedented times and I am grateful for your exemplary service to Canadians. Thank you for doing your work with the highest level of professionalism and commitment.
I also want to offer a heartfelt thank you to your families who support you in doing the work you do in service to your country. It is important work, which makes a difference in the lives of many.
