Visiting an inmate at a federal institution during COVID-19 (flyer)

Planning for a visit

• Visits must be booked at least 48 hours in advance by:

• contacting the institution

• You will be asked to:

• self-screen at the time of booking

• Monitor your health and:

• know the symptoms of COVID-19

• If you have symptoms, you should postpone the visit until you do not have symptoms. You must be registered on the inmate's authorized visitors' list.

• Masks are strongly encouraged. You can bring your own or one will be provided.

• You cannot bring food, beverages, or personal belongings into the institution.Exceptions can be made, please:

During your visit

• All visitors must:

  • self-screen upon arrival

• Inmates and visitors may be required to be two meters apart.

• Physical distancing applies throughout the site.

After your visit

• Each visitor table will be provided with disinfecting wipes.

• Locations where visiting occurs should be wiped down with disinfected wipes before and after each visit.

• Remember to wash or disinfect your hands.
