Government announces appointments to the Bank of Canada’s Board of Directors

January 12, 2023 - Ottawa, Ontario - Department of Finance Canada

Today, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, announced the appointment of David Dominy, Ernie Daniels, and Shelley Williams as Directors on the Board of the Bank of Canada.

These three appointees bring many years of experience in accounting, capital markets, and financial management from across industries and sectors, including First Nations financial institutions and non-profit organizations.


“I am pleased to appoint Ms. Williams and Messrs. Dominy and Daniels as Directors to the Board of the Bank of Canada. I want to thank them for accepting these positions, which play an important role in supporting the resiliency and stability of Canada’s financial system, and I have confidence that their diverse experiences and expertise will be valuable to the Bank as it delivers on its mandate on behalf of all Canadians.”
