2026 Pre-Budget Consultations

On July 6, 2026, the Government of Canada launched pre-budget consultations to hear from Canadians on their priorities for Budget 2026. These consultations provided an opportunity for Canadians from across the country to share their ideas and priorities on how to shape Canada's future.

Pre-budget consultations concluded on September 8, 2026, and the online questionnaire and long-form submissions process are now closed.

Next Steps

Feedback received through the questionnaire and the long-form submissions will be reviewed by the Department of Finance and will help inform Budget 2026. While these formal consultations have concluded, Canadians are welcome to share their ideas and comments with the Department of Finance at any time.
