National Defence makes benefits payments, in the form of contributions, to a number of individuals with links to the Canadian Armed Forces.
The contribution of $1.0 million in these Main Estimates ensures that military members receive the compensation they deserve.
These funds include:
$800,000 from the Supplementary Retirement Benefits Act for individuals receiving pensions from the Consolidated Revenue Fund; and
$200,000 from the Defence Services Pension Continuation Act to pay pensions to individuals enrolled as Regular Force members before 1 April 1946.
