The Anti-Racism Secretariat Presents: Raise Your Voice Forum

The inaugural Raise Your Voice Forum (RYVF) was held on May 24, 2022 at CFB Esquimalt and featured the Minister of National Defence and her Advisory Panel on Systemic Racism and Discrimination.  

The Panel members shared their insights on what they learned during the course of their mandate, and how it informed their final report, which was released on April 25, 2022. The report contains areas of opportunities for action and specific recommendations that are intended to advise the Minister and the Defence Team Senior Leadership, on how to support DND and the CAF in becoming a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Answers to questions submitted during the event via Slido and those received via other means, will be shared with Defence Team members in the next few weeks.

The RYVF, hosted by the Anti-Racism Secretariat, is a platform for DND/CAF members, designed to raise awareness and increase collaboration to achieve a culture grounded in equity, diversity, and inclusion through learning the experiences of Indigenous, Black, and racialized members of the Defence Team. Such courageous conversations build strong cultural competencies which enable us to work better together and respond to each other with relevance, empathy and compassion.
