Virtual Shout-outs are back: See who received a “Shout-out” in June

Do you know of a co-worker who deserves a special shout-out or are you looking for a way to recognize someone who has made an impact, big or small? Virtual Shout-Outs are a quick and easy way for you to publicly recognize a colleague, or team of colleagues, for a job well done.

Here’s how to submit a Virtual Shout-out:

• Email your shout-outs to the Corporate Awards and Recognition Secretariat and
• Provide the email(s) of the person(s) being recognized.
• Shout-outs are collected on an ongoing basis.

Note that shout-out recipients will be given the option to “opt out” of having their message displayed on the Bulletin Board (accessible only on the National Defence network) on the Maple Leaf and the Defence Team intranet, and submissions can remain anonymous.

“I would like to send a virtual shout out to Robert Nash of the 2CAD Validation team. Mr. Nash stood up the 2CAD Validation program in February 2017 and has been successful in translating the requirements of the validation phase of the AFTEMS Quality Control Cycle into practical application. Qualification Managers and OPRTs have uniformly appreciated his work and some of them are now including validation in their annual business plans.

I have enjoyed collaborating with him over the last one year in making the Validation SOP robust, as well as in presenting a BLUF view in terms of Areas of Excellence and Areas of Concern. These improvements have been very well accepted.

His dedication and expertise increased our unit’s numbers threefold in the wake of a challenging pandemic. Throughout his tenure as File Manager he has become known for his dependability and readiness to ensure recruiting functions are maintained at a high standard despite staffing turnover in the department, often covering for others and performing functions outside his assigned tasks.” – CPO2 Akol

“I would like to send a virtual shout out to Marc Desmarais. Marc joined our Admin cell as the Training Officer for RP Ops Det Cold Lake in October 2021. His corporate knowledge and experience makes him a tremendous asset not only to our Admin section but the Unit as a whole. Marc quickly adapted to his new role, taking an excellent much needed lead in our unit’s training. He also recently stepped up as DRMIS site manager and SLOC holder. In July 2021, I was assigned as a storeperson in the Warehouse Section of the Supply Platoon, 2 Tech Svcs, Hangar 103, Saint-Jean Garrison.

It has already been ten (10) months, and I can see Sonia’s hard work and her advanced knowledge of the IT systems (Excel and others) have meant our shelves are well stocked. And this in spite of COVID when there are delivery delays for certain equipment!

Sonia’s meticulous planning allows all the Warehouse section’s members to perform their tasks smoothly!

As a result, clothing parades and exchanges are conducted successfully!
