Military Police National Motorcycle Relay is crossing Canada

August 13, 2018 – Ottawa – National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces

Today, the 2018 Military Police National Motorcycle Relay (MPNMR) riders arrive in Ottawa and complete Day 16 of their 27-day ride across Canada that fundraises for the Military Police Fund for Blind Children.

National riders started in Victoria, British Columbia on July 29, 2018 and have covered over 6000 kilometers so far. About 300 Military Police and civilian riders are participating in the 2018 MPNMR, joining for one or more legs of the journey. The relay covers over 10 000 kilometers and finishes in St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador on August 24, 2018.

  • 18 MPNMR directs funds to the Military Police Fund for Blind Children and has raised over $600 000 since starting in 2009.

  • Founded in 1957, Military Police members, both former and currently serving, as well as other CAF members volunteer to operate the Military Police Fund for Blind Children. Visually impaired children up to the age of 21 can be eligible for the funds raised.
