Stage 1: Letter of Intent (LoI)

- Participate in the Information Webinar
- Submit LoI
LoI to be received by the program by the deadline stated in the CFPMN .
LoI is Screened for Eligibility
The LoI is reviewed by the IDEaS Program Office and selected specialists to:
- Confirm the eligibility of the applicants and proposed activities; and
- Confirm the alignment of the proposal to the Innovation Challenge.
Successful LoI applicants will be invited to submit a Full Proposal.
Invitation notice will be sent to successful applicants two weeks following the LoI submission deadline.
Stage 2: Full Proposal
Consolidation of Proposals (optional) - see Section 5.1.1 of this Applicant Guide.
Submit the Full Proposal that clearly addresses the six point- rated criteria - see Section 6.2.2 of this Applicant Guide.
Full Proposal to be submitted by the deadline stated in the CFPMN.
Evaluation of Projects: Point-Rated Assessment Criteria
DND will convene an evaluation committee composed of subject matter experts from the national and/or international scientific communities to assess, score, and rank each Full Proposal.
Proposals that have passed the eligibility requirements and assessment criteria will be placed in a Pre-Qualified Pool.
Stage 3: Final Funding Decision
All pre-qualified proposals will be considered for funding by the IDEaS Senior Management Funding Oversight Committee.
This Committee considers the evaluation results of the pre-qualified proposals and examines strategic considerations across multiple parameters.
A 90 Day Service Standard is applicable from the receipt of the Full Proposal to the Final Funding Decision.
