Information and Referrals

Our support counsellors can provide information on and help connect you with CAF, provincial, territorial and community-based support resources. Our counsellors can also refer you to Veterans Affairs Canada programs and services that may suit your needs.

For reporting sexual misconduct, the counsellor you are talking with can facilitate an anonymous discussion with a Military Liaison Officer or Military Police Liaison Officer to obtain information on reporting and other CAF legal processes—should you identify and request this as something you need. If you are not interested in pursuing your case through the military justice system, we can refer you to a police organization in your area.

If the sexual misconduct involves a CAF member, you may wish to speak with the SMRC Military Police Liaison Officer (MPLO) or Military Liaison Officers (MLO). The MPLO and MLOs support the work of the SMRC and are available by referral through the Centre’s 24/7 line. They can provide in-depth information about CAF policies and reporting sexual misconduct within the CAF. An SMRC counsellor can facilitate your connection with the MPLO or MLO, and you can remain anonymous if you prefer.
