- This is an interim policy modification to references A and B, and supersedes references C and D, effective 30 June 2023.
- To align with direction provided at reference E, the Cadet Fitness Assessment Incentive Program (CFAIP), including the awarding of badges, as well as the Colonel Robert Perron Award for Excellence in Physical Fitness (Perron Award), will be paused for at least one calendar year; to allow for consultation and the development, trial and implementation of a replacement incentive program and award criteria.
- Stakeholders from all levels of the CJCR Gp will be invited to engage in the consultation and development of the new CFAIP over the coming months, in various ways such as through surveys, in-person consultation or trials. Stakeholder engagement will be critical in ensuring the re-designed CFAIP encourages all cadets to be physically active while providing the cadet with recognition for their efforts in a challenging, fair, and inclusive manner.
- CFAIP levels will no longer be a criterion used in the ranking and selection of cadets for activities such as Area Directed Activities, Regionally Directed Activities, Nationally Directed Activities, and summer training opportunities. A new selection process is currently in development and will be provided through future policy updates.
- The Cadet Fitness Assessment (CFA) outlined at reference F, will continue to be conducted at cadet training centres and corps/squadrons, to allow cadets to self-assess their fitness and to set personal goals. The new form to support the conduct of the CFA is available through the Training Management Guide (You are now leaving Canada.ca. Link accessible only on the Cadet365 SharePoint).
