34-08 - Training Priorities

Cadet Administrative and Training Orders (CATOs)

1. The purpose of this order is to promulgate the training priorities established for Sea Cadets.

2. Annex A to this order contains a listing, in order of importance, of activities included in the Sea Cadet programme. The purpose of the list is to provide direction to cadet authorities with respect to funding priorities for these activities.

3. When the cadet budget is known for the fiscal year, the funds assigned to Sea Cadet activities are to be applied to the activities listed in Annex A in accordance with the order that they appear in the list. For example, the highest priority activity for Sea Cadets is Mandatory LHQ Training. This activity is to receive the highest priority for funding. If, after Mandatory LHQ Training is fully funded, funds remain the next highest priority activity, Mandatory Support Training, is to be funded. In this manner, funds are to be allocated to activities until exhausted. Any activity which is too far down the list to receive funding in this way is, if it is to occur, to be supported entirely by the Navy League.
