Combat Specialists are the backbone of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Army operations. They develop combat skills, maintain their equipment, and, if necessary, engage the enemy in battle.

Armour Officer

Armour Officers provide reconnaissance and direct-fire support from armoured vehicles during battle.

Armoured Soldier

Armoured Soldiers operate and maintain armoured fighting vehicles, its weapon systems and its communication equipment. 

Artillery Officer

Artillery Officers provide indirect fire support, air defence, and surveillance and target acquisition in battle.

Artillery Soldier

Artillery Soldiers are responsible for surveillance, target acquisition, and indirect fire to engage the enemy. 

Infantry Officer

Infantry Officers occupy various positions involving planning, training, intelligence logistics and administration.

Infantry Soldier

Infantry Soldiers are the Army’s primary combat fighters and are responsible for closing with and engaging the enemy.
