Health care

Health Care Specialists work in teams to provide primary health care services or health care support to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members.  Health Care Specialists are non-combatants, which means they do not engage the enemy and carry weapons for personal protection only.

Bioscience Officer

Bioscience Officers reduce and prevent health threats to CAF members and improve their operational performance.

Dental Officer

Dental Officers practice preventive dentistry and dental treatment for oral diseases, injuries, and defects of the teeth.

Dental Technician

Dental Technicians support Dental Officers in delivering dental services to CAF members and their families.

Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants assist Medical and Nursing Officers to treat the sick and injured in CAF units and on operations.

Medical Laboratory Technologist

Medical Laboratory Techs provide medical laboratory data used in the treatment and diagnosis of medical conditions.

Medical Officer

Medical Officers provide primary health care services for CAF members, whether at a military clinic or overseas.

Medical Radiation Technologist

Medical Radiation Technologists provide diagnostic imaging services used to diagnose and treat medical conditions.

Medical Technician

Medical Technicians work with Physician Assistants, Medical and Nursing Officers to treat the sick and injured.

Nursing Officer

Nursing Officers provide care to ill and injured CAF members, in both Canadian clinics and hospitals abroad.

Operating Room Technician

Operating Room Technicians are responsible in providing safe and hygienic performances while partaking in operative procedures.

Pharmacy Officer

Pharmacy Officers provide pharmaceutical care to CAF members.

Physiotherapy Officer

Physiotherapy Officers assess, educate and treat CAF members for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

Social Work Officer

Social Work Officers support the morale, efficiency and mental health of CAF members and their families.
