The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) offers a variety of support programs and services for its members and their families. No matter where you are posted, you and your family will have access to:

Financial support services

CAF members have access to financial services including:

  • financial planning
  • income tax preparation assistance
  • group term life insurance
  • comprehensive long-term disability

Health and wellness programs

In addition to health and dental care, you will have access to:

  • sports and fitness programs and facilities
  • healthy eating programs
  • smoking cessation programs
  • operational trauma and stress support centres
  • counselling
  • family support services through the Military Family Resource Centres

Youth facilities

CAF members with children will have access to:

  • child care facilities
  • emergency child care

Relocation benefits and services

Moving can be stressful for you and your family. In the event that you and your family must relocate, the CAF can provide:

  • community orientations
  • family separation and reunion counselling
  • domestic travel benefits
  • employment assistance and second language training for spouses
  • cost-of-living differential allowances
