Flight Lieutenant Peter Campbell
In 2012, the remains of Flight Lieutenant Peter Campbell were recovered from Lake Muskoka, Ontario. He and Leading Aircraftman Theodore Bates went missing when their Nomad 3521 aircraft collided with another aircraft (Nomad 3512) on December 13, 1940, during the Second World War.

Peter Campbell was born in March, 1916 in Quilon, India. He attended school in the United Kingdom and was a clerk prior to his enlistment in the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1936.
Flight Lieutenant Campbell was posted to Canada as a flight instructor on loan from the RAF.
On 13 December 1940, while participating in a search for a missing airman, his aircraft, Nomad 3521, collided with another and crashed into Lake Muskoka.
When the Ontario Provincial Police surveyed the lakebed surrounding the crash site, they found the personal effects of Flight Lieutenant Campbell and Leading Aircraftman Theodore Scribner Bates. Among the items were Campbell’s cigarette case, RAF buttons and RAF wings.
Flight Lieutenant Peter Campbell was buried in September 2013 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery alongside Leading Aircraftman Bates.
