New Richmond families will benefit from an upgraded regional park that supports a better quality of life

The Government of Canada provides almost $129,000 in funding to support this community project
October 28, 2017 – New Richmond, Quebec – Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
With the help of $128,535 in funding from the Government of Canada, New Richmond families will benefit from upgraded community infrastructure that will enhance Petite‑Cascapédia Regional Park and allow it to continue attracting numerous visitors.
The funding was announced today by the Honorable Diane Lebouthillier, MP for Gaspésie–Les Îles‑de‑la‑Madeleine and Minister of National Revenue, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED.
The funding will allow the organization to do various types of work, including upgrading existing trails, developing new mountain bike paths, setting up a bike park, and adding a playground for children, fitness modules along the river-edge, a basketball court and an outdoor stage.
This investment was made through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150), a $300M fund set up to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary by investing in community spaces that bring Canadians together.
