The following information is in addition to the news release issued on August 3, 2022, on CED’s financial assistance and the recipient communities and their respective projects.

The goal of the project is to upgrade the “Espace de l'alimentation,” a community kitchen, in order to revitalize Plessisville’s town centre. The contribution will serve to develop a community kitchen, including replacing doors and windows, insulation and doing electrical and plumbing work. |

Saint-Bonaventure (MRC de Drummond) |
The project involves expanding and upgrading the multi-purpose community centre, with a view to revitalizing the main street and making a public space more accessible to persons with disabilities. Outdoor spaces and the network of trails will also be upgraded and expanded/extended. CED’s contribution will cover the necessary expansion work, as well as the cost of upgrading the multi-purpose community centre and restoring and extending the network of trails. |

Drummondville (MRC de Drummond) |
The project involves upgrading the parking lot in the Forêt Drummond regional park. The new parking lot will include natural rainwater management to reduce the amount of runoff and foster natural infiltration to prevent overflow and reduce the volume of untreated rainwater. CED’s contribution will be used for project-related excavation and development work, including adding native trees, shrubs and plants and setting up shelters and nesting structures for wildlife, to preserve the biodiversity. |

Bécancour (MRC de Bécancour) |
The project involves extending the bike path in the Sainte-Angèle area by 1 km in order to link the centre of the village with the Domaine La Tour and Plateau Laval residential developments, with a view to revitalizing the main street of Bécancour and enhancing outdoor spaces. The contribution will cover the cost of work on the bike path, including paving, a grass median and concrete curbing; setting up bicycle lanes in the connected neighbourhoods; planting trees and shrubs and installing urban furniture; and the engineering fees associated with drawing up the project plans and specifications. |

Sainte-Cécile-de-Lévrard (MRC de Bécancour) |
The project involves upgrading Rock-Demers Park in order to revitalize the main street, enhance outdoor spaces and improve accessibility for persons with disabilities. Specifically, the project targets the construction of a building, including a public washroom adapted for persons with disabilities, as well as a shelter, the relocation of a fitness trail and the installation of shuffleboard game. CED’s contribution will cover the cost of constructing the new building (excavation, concrete foundations, construction material, electricity and labour); the cost of relocating the fitness trail and setting up a shuffleboard game; and other project-related costs. |

The project aims to upgrade the CAIBF’s facilities with a view to enhancing and revamping an outdoor space and supporting a green project in Victoriaville. CED’s contribution will serve to: 1. enhance outdoor spaces by making the land greener so that it is a welcoming space for immigrants and families in the neighbourhood; and 2. install a central heat pump system and a centralized control system with smart thermostats. |

The project involves building a new park for seniors in Kingsey Falls, with a view to revitalizing the main street, revamping outdoor spaces and improving accessibility for persons with disabilities. The contribution will cover the cost of building the park and the parking area, and the costs associated with various facilities, such as the pétanque pitches, the shuffleboard game and the workout area. |

The project aims to adapt the new multi‑purpose centre acquired by the Carrefour des générations du Grand Daveluyville (CGGD) so that the new building meets the needs of persons with reduced mobility, as well as the needs of the organization to allow it to accomplish its mission and foster the development of the communities in question. CED’s contribution will cover the cost of adapting the building, including electrical, plumbing and carpentry work, and the costs associated with acquiring and installing the walk-in cooler/freezer and the automatic door, and the management of the project by an internal resource. |

The project involves building a new outdoor skating rink in the Saint-François-du-Lac public park to enhance outdoor spaces. The contribution will target the construction of the new skating rink, including costs associated with the design of the rink, such as the boards and gates around the rink, the field hockey surface, benches, a shelter, bleachers, goals, basketball nets and a scoreboard. |
