Southern Ontario businesses to receive support to compete, build and transform amid shifting market conditions with Government of Canada investment

Today, the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario ), announced a combined investment of more than $3.4 million for four businesses to respond, adapt and compete amid shifting market conditions.

Peterborough-based manufacturer to expand operations by adding a dedicated advanced mill to produce high-quality panels in a new profile to diversify its product lines, achieve vertical integration, and enable it to better meet the domestic demand for Canadian-sourced and made products. $750,000
Kit Steel Inc. Welland-based reinforcing steel (rebar) fabricator to modernize production infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen competitiveness. $655,026
Steelcon Fabrication Inc. Welland-based steel fabricator to establish an automated structural steel and joist fabrication shop that enhances throughput, precision, and operational efficiency across its Welland and St. Catharines facilities. $1,000,000
Titus Steel Company Ltd. Mississauga-based importer, distributor and fabricator of specialty wear and impact steels, work-hardening steels, and tool and die steels to expand its fabrication capabilities through the adoption of specialized equipment. $1,000,000
