Government of Canada supports growth and competitiveness of three Burlington businesses

FedDev Ontario invests $7.5 million to help companies to scale operations and unlock new opportunities for growth
Burlington is a dynamic economic centre supported by a diverse range of industries, including advanced manufacturing, building technologies, and AI-driven innovation, which together support sustained growth and play a key role in stimulating the local economy. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovative businesses in the area that drive job creation, economic growth, and ongoing community development.
Today, the Honourable Karina Gould, Member of Parliament for Burlington, on behalf of the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced a combined investment of $7.5 million to support three Burlington-based businesses as they scale and seize new growth opportunities in the defence, manufacturing and telecommunications sectors.
PV Labs is undertaking a $14-million project, with FedDev Ontario supporting $5 million through the Regional Defence Investment Initiative, to expand domestic manufacturing of its advanced aerial stabilization and imaging systems, helping build Canada’s sovereign aerospace and defence capabilities by strengthening domestic production capacity and reinforcing Canada’s role in global aerospace and defence supply chains.
Modern Elevator Innovations is receiving $1 million through the Regional Tarriff Response Initiative, to support facility upgrades, including modernizing its equipment and processes to increase fabrication capabilities.
Software and geospatial solutions company, Spatial Data Analytics is undertaking an almost $4-million project, with FedDev Ontario supporting $1.5 million, through the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative, to commercialize and scale its AI-driven solutions to support utility and telecommunications infrastructure inspection and management.

The Government of Canada’s National AI Strategy: AI for All, includes a $500-million national investment to expand and enhance the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative, delivered by Canada’s regional development agencies. The program is currently not accepting applications.
