Anthony Housefather was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Mount Royal in 2015.

Mr. Housefather has been an elected official for 25 years. He served as a municipal councillor from 1994 to 2005 and served as Mayor of Côte-Saint-Luc from 2005 to 2015.

Mr. Housefather holds a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Bachelor of Laws from McGill University, and a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business. He worked at Dialogic Corporation, a multinational technology company, where he rose through the ranks to become Executive Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and General Counsel.

Mr. Housefather is active in his community, having served as a volunteer for many years with a number of community organizations. He is also a member of the local drama society and swim team. His performance in swimming earned him seven medals at the 2013 Maccabiah Games and five medals at the 2017 Maccabiah Games. The Maccabiah Games is an international multi-sport competition held every four years in Israel.

In the 42nd Parliament, he served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights.
