Adjustment to the effect on the cap calculation for low-wage positions
As of September 3rd 2019, there will be a new calculation to determine the effect your application will have on your cap. Your cap on the number of temporary foreign workers you can hire does not change with this new calculation.
This change will benefit employers who have a history of transitioning temporary foreign workers to permanent residents. The new calculation will account for an estimated number of temporary foreign workers that will be nominated soon for a Provincial Nominee Program certificate or Certificat de sélection du Québec. This estimated number is based on your recent history of supporting temporary foreign workers transitioning to permanent residency.
We invite you to test this new calculation to understand the impact it may have on your work force. Should you be eligible for more workers using the new calculation we invite you to submit a new application for any more workers you may require.
Please note, new applications submitted will not be prioritized or match to another application that may be in the queue for assessment. For more information on determining the effect on the cap, please review section 10B or 10C of the Low Wage application form.
