Setting Defaults

The HIFIS Defaults screen is used to change the way HIFIS handles some key functions to make it work better with your computer system and meet your organizational requirements. This screen includes information regarding the Boundaries (length of date ranges and ages), Paths (where information such as the backups and photos will be saved on your computer system), Settings, Switches (for example, whether you would like Bulletins to appear on start up or if you would like weekly reminds to check for HIFIS software updates) and Last Dates settings for HIFIS.

Setting defaults before beginning to use HIFIS will make it easier to transition to the new system, however, any of the options in this screen can be changed at a later date to meet changing needs.

Did you know?
It is important to make sure that your HIFIS Defaults and User Profiles work together. You can set the software to remind for backups every week but if no one in your service provider has the right to perform backups, this will not be useful. Also, if you do not give users the ability to see youth, for example, you need to identify what you consider “youth” through HIFIS defaults to ensure that users are only seeing the clients they are meant to see.
